Lecture Reflection
Eric Garcia When I saw the lecture, it was not surprising to hear that he had to work around political prisoners when working on his drawings. It can be hard to work on paintings when so many things are politicized, even if you do what a majority of the people around you agree with because there will always be someone who goes against your views. I have views that most people around me agree with, and I work with others to see what they think. When doing so, I get to have the opinions of others, and they help me see what I can do to work with what a majority of the people around me like. When he made murals of calaveras for the Day of the Dead, it looked good to me because I knew they were important for the memories of their ancestors who got them there. Looking back on my ancestry is important to me too, so I can see why they want to do it as well.
